Not only we spend a good half of our lives in a bed, but its shape and quality make a decisive impact on our well-being, so yes, at the end of the day it's the mattress that matters most. However, there are many models of extravagant beds, chic or modern, which can confuse us in the choice. Let's take a closer look at which types of beds are the most special and which advantages or disadvantages they have.

The canopy bed

Perfect for romantics, princesses and all those who love to turn the bed into a reassuring retreat. However, not all canopy bed structures are covered with canopies or fabric panels; sometimes even the structure alone is enough to make us dream. The stereotype of a canopy bed is classically completed by numerous large cushions.

The round bed

It sounds elegant and fun, but how practical is a round bed? Apart from the fact that you'll need special sheets, a round double bed doesn't necessarily create more space. On the contrary, if two people sleep in it, you risk being tight. We could therefore say that a round bed, perhaps, is more a stylistic statement than a choice of practicality.

The wooden bed

Ideal for nature lovers and for all those who like the scent of wood. Whatever the structure of the wooden bed, one thing is certain: from the point of view of Feng Shui, wood is a good material for a bed. It radiates peace and warmth and unlike iron grills does not stop the energy paths, being a living material. However, it should be remembered that the wood may creak a bit over the years, because it deforms due to heat or cold.

The container bed

Suitable for orderly fanatics and cleaning lovers, who simply sleep better when they know that everything is in its place. A positive side effect: many beds are slightly taller thanks to the drawers - this makes it easier to get up in the morning.

The foldaway bed

The space-saving version of a foldaway bed is particularly appreciated by those who live in a one-room apartment, but even in spacious loft apartments or open sleeping areas hiding the bed can be a good idea. However, the obvious disadvantage of this variant is that the mattress and bedding cannot really be aerated during the day.

The suspended bed

The suspended bed is popular among bed aesthetes. A kind of "flying bed", which should promote enchanting nights, but also challenge the anxious question: will it be stable? The answer is yes: with its combination of wall mounting and hidden legs in the middle section, it can withstand several people. Another advantage to take into account is that, unlike most other models, cleaning the floor under the bed will be very easy.

The hanging bed

Similar to a floating bed, even a hanging bed requires special fastening options. The chains or ropes are mounted with hooks in the ceiling, so it may be a bit intrusive if you decide to change furniture in the future. This variant is less suitable for all those who suffer from sea sickness, but is perfect for those who love to be lulled into sleep.

The wall-mounted bed

These wall systems are suitable for all those who want to have their personal belongings at hand at all times, surrounded by shelves, wardrobes or built-in bedside tables. It is necessary to make sure that the cupboards above the bed are not too bulky or protruding, to avoid that the head could hit them.
