High Line floor lamp by Marset
High Line is a light sculpture, a thin line that emits light without revealing its source. This floor lamp by Josep Lluís Xuclà generates light indirectly by reflection, and in a unique way, the light does not bounce off the ceiling, but off the wall. Its designer is interested in having the wall return the light emitted. The wall is this lamp's greatest ally, and it wants to stay close. Formally, it is a composition in volumes and colours. Three blocks are distinguished by their shapes and shades: the vertical light-bearing oak element is attached to a block of lacquered wood. Both stand above the black base, which defines the optimal distance at which to position the lamp from the wall to generate an ideal light source. The austerity of its forms contrasts with the warmth of the wood and the depth of its colours.
