This work by Fulvio Bianconi stems from the most innovative glassmaking technique in the 1900s: thin rectangular strips of glass are placed one on top of the other and then hand-applied to a conical base made from blown glass. Shades of Iridescent Green and Aquamarine meet hues of Iridescent Sand and Red in a piece so timeless but dated 1989.
Somebody found it amusing to cut tiny little pieces of glass like paper cutouts. He created shapes resembling desert plants, new forms of futuristic architecture. His name is Fulvio Bianconi.

SOFFIATO (BLOWN) - This technique takes its name from the action performed by the craftsmen when they blow air into a long metal cane attached to a piece of glass in order to expand and shape it into various shapes. This glassmaking tradition has remained unchanged for more than a thousand years. Thanks to this ancient technique and to the experience and manual skill of the master glassmakers, a simple piece of glass is transformed into artistic masterpieces that are truly one of a kind.

DECORI (DECORATIONS) - These are any applications that the master glassmaker applies on the object’s surface while it is still hot. They make every object unique and precious. The Decoration is chosen while the work is being designed and can range from a personalization of the edge of the glass to the insertion of precious gold leaves in its transparency.
