A multitude of shapes and colours. Apparently, Paolo Venini had a knack for experimenting with Incisi. They are countless. The vase owes its name to the "Incisione a Freddo" glassmaking technique, an innovative method used for sandblasting glass surfaces, thus lending them a fine opaque effect.
Their delicate opaque appearance is like a gently caressing touch. They let viewers caress them with their eyes, hands and soul. It’s love at first sight.

SOFFIATO (BLOWN) - This technique takes its name from the action performed by the craftsmen when they blow air into a long metal cane attached to a piece of glass in order to expand and shape it into various shapes. This glassmaking tradition has remained unchanged for more than a thousand years. Thanks to this ancient technique and to the experience and manual skill of the master glassmakers, a simple piece of glass is transformed into artistic masterpieces that are truly one of a kind.

INCISO (ETCHED) - This complex artistic technique is performed with a hard stone grinding wheel, which is used to engrave the cold surface of the almost finished product. The master glassmaker carefully and meticulously follows the pattern designed by the artist. For a moment, the master glassmaker holds his breath – that is how concentrated he is. If he makes the slightest mistake, all his efforts will be in vain.
